I can't do fog, but I can add a light mist:

That doesnt look like mist as much as it just looks oversharpened. I wish I could help but I cant add smoke either, I may be able to try when I get home.

From what Ive seen, the editing of photomatix is subpar.I would say try lightroom or photoshop. The first one is better in my opinion.
