Tilt & Shift Lenses

Anyone have or ever used a tilt & shift lens for architecture work? Do these lenses degrade the quality of the shot?

Generally a TS lens will perform worse than a non TS lens of equivalent focal length, unless you have a view camera. That's doesn't stop anyone from using them if they need the effect the lens provides.

The loss of quality is hardly noticeable if you use a good one like Nikon or Olympus. That's one reason why they are more expensive than a standard.
In both cases they produce a better quality image than your standard zoom
