Comment two: it looks like a crop out of a much, much larger frame.
Comment three: it obviously suffered from being cropped out of that much larger frame. It no longer is sharp, the detail in the feathers got lost, the tail feathers look all blown and too sharp (by pp-sharpening!)
Comment four: I find the crop too close (mostly so towards this goose's chest), but, and this is
comment five: it looks friendly, calm, floating, serene.
Also, it might look a little better at a manageable size -- its not good to have to scroll side to side for people with lower resolutions, but more importantly, you would gain back a little clarity at a smaller image size.
True ... at 1024px wide it is a bit too wide for web presentation, we keep saying that a maximum width of 800px is adviseable, or anything between 600 and 800px wide. And yes, some of the technical flaws would show less .
