TORNADOS

phew... just got in from a 3 day, 2700 mile round trip to the plains to chase storms. Wasnt quite as good as I hoped, but I did manage 2 tornados...

Took these near Sitka Kansas. It was dark, and the second picture was while the car was moving so not my best work...

Wow, these are awesome captures! Especially the first one. With subjects such as tornadoes, some technical flaws like noise are easy to ignore!

Doug... I don't think it's fair that you on one chase get to see tornados and in all four of mine I haven't seen one. Granted I still have a lot to learn about looking at weather maps since I can't make heads or tails of all the maps. Good job in taking these pictures. What kind of tornados would you call those... Is the first one a stove pipe? I think the second is an elephants trunk right?

patience young gwasshoppa. I started chasing the plains in 97 and saw my first tornado in '99. The more you chase the better your odds.
