Tree Study.

Came across some trees (as you do) when walking my way up Goat Fell, Arran. Thought i'd do a little study.

7. I was tempted to try this one upside down to show the 'heart' shape but the lighting throws the balance off.

8. Why the rubber gloves in the middle of nowhere?

Again, as usual, any c&c is always appreciated, any obvious problems you can see, don't be afraid to point them out.

C&C per req:
1, 2: I like these, although it's a shame #1 gets a littel soft toward the top.
3. Very nice.

5. I really like this one, I would suggest cropping some off the bottom though.

8. I like photos like this; the "What the heck" subject, but they're a little hard to see. Perhaps a closer crop, or maybe a colour version.
I think any of 3, 4, 5, and/or six might work well as high-contrast black and white images.
Just my $00.02 worth - your milage may vary.

The gloves are difficult to see and i thought they may have been when i had taken the shot. I got close but didn't want to get closer in case it was difficult to make out the tree. Colour like you say would have been better.
