trying to find the words...

you know how it is sometimes when you cant think of a word and then you spend the rest of the day trying to work out what it was....

i was trying to look for a word that is kinda like 'displaced' or 'outcast'... something that seems to have no place or use... something that doesn't fit in anywhere... and i'm seriously stuck.... :?
