This is a really cool photo - I like images that take an ordinary object and make it not obvious and not ordinary. I think seeing the photo can be the challenge in photography and you seem to have done well with this one.

I'd think about the contrast too. I learned with B&W film and darkroom work to adjust as a starting point to get a 'black' black and a 'white' white somewhere in the image, even if it's a very small area. That usually works for me in adjusting B&W regardless of the medium to get a good range of tones.

What's next this summer, more straws? popsicle sticks? - might get the neighbors wondering who that big kid is who chases the ice cream truck down the street (the one in my neighborhood plays music with sounds like a horse whinnying and clip-clopping).
