How much "underwater" coverage do you need? There are waterproof bag style options that are inexpensive compared to the grand you can spend on a dedicated housing. I have used the bag style for rafting, outdoorsy, even shore break shooting with no issues.

If you are looking for something to paddle out into a line up with, and do some serious shooting, there are all sorts of housing brands/makers out there. I bought from THIS site while living on O'ahu. good product, but pricey and took a loss when it came time to sell, but I know that's to be expected.

I just want a simple one just to go in the pool or lake.

I would look at the bag version I linked, it certainly has suited my needs, they can handle a pool/lake, 110%. . . and you wouldn't have to spend 1K on a housing.

Having a housing for flash is bad ass, I wish I had had that. Red is the first color to go once underwater and a flash would have been awesome.

See, OP, that's what I mean, lol.

I'll be purchasing an Outex setup this summer for some surf photography, about $350 for my setup.
