I got this one yesterday. I know it's not wise, but I decided to stalk a black bear. When I found him, I was almost too excited to shoot!

The shot is dark, as he was deep in the shadow, and I know that I have to remove the stick in front of his nose (he was grubbing for nuts).

What else can be done to improve the shot (short of retaking it...I had decided that my only way down the mountain faster than the bear was to fall).

All comments and suggestions appreciated.

considering the circumstances, i think you did well! it's hard to control the levels in this pic without masking etc. will take a bit of PS'ing. good job!

Deb, that is quite the shot. Did you use flash? Bears being black are extremley hard to expose for, yours is very good. You could clone out the twigs in his face.

I sure hope you know a thing or two about bears and thier body language. I would not recomend any one doing this unless they understand bears, other wise doing so is very extreme.
