Upgrade from 55-300

I just sold my 55-300 and I would like to get another tele, as my longest lens now is a 150 macro. I want something that can track fast if I am shooting anything in sports but I don't shoot that very often. I would like to stay around 500 dollars. Not sure if the 70-300 nikon is best option for me or maybe a used 70-200 2.8 if I can stretch my budget (found one on craigslist for 1000). Any thoughts?

1000 is really cheap for 70-200 vr1.. Is there anything wrong with it? If not get it ASAP.
