USB Cable IFC-200U

Just purchased a 6d Mark ll and it does not come with interface cable to transfer images from camera to computer/MacBook Pro. When checking on Canon website it shows this interface cable USB Cable IFC-200U but does not list 6d Mark ll as compatible. What kind and where do I buy a cable that works?

It just uses a standard mini usb cable. But most people remove the card from the camera and use a card reader.

The cable uses a USB "mini B" connector on the camera side and a standard USB on the computer side. This cable type is so common that there's a chance you have one laying around (just make sure it isn't a "usb charging cable". There are some products that ONLY use USB to "charge" a product (such as a phone) and there were special versions of those cables where of all the possible wire strands... only the strands that carry power are connected (the cables can't be used to transfer data). Those cables wont work.

If you have a new MacBook Pro (with the USB-C ports) then you probably don't want the standard USB cable... you can get a version that is meant for USB-C. You can search for "usb mini-b to usb-c" and you should find loads of choices. A quick search at Amazon found several choices that were less than $10.

If your mac has an SD card slot (the newest MacBook Pros no longer have this slot, but older models all have them) then you can just insert the camera's SD card into the computer's card slot to transfer the images (this is pretty easy and fast).

You can also transfer the images via WiFi using the Canon "EOS Utility" software that comes with the camera (download the latest version from Canon's website).

You could likely use any high quality USB cable that has the proper terminations. The Canon cables have a ferrite core noise reduction filter that may not be needed. It is often added for FCC testing but in the real world isn't needed.

Using the card reader is way faster than cable transfer. The MacBook may even have one built in.
