Using built-in flash along with off camera flash

Hi,
How can we use built-in camera flash along with off camera flashes? Flash trigger / transmitter mounted on the flash mount always blocks the in-built flash from popping up. Any recommendation on a trigger device will be helpful.

I am trying with D3100, YN 560 III.

You could put the remote flash in "slave mode". The BI flash will trigger it.

Why would you want to use the flash on camera? It won't really provide any good quality of fill light...
