vivitar 285Hv stopped working red light on, nothing, any idea what happened?

hello all. I have a 4 off camera flashes(285Hv X 4) set up, I was using one for hair light using triggers, it was working well, it did shoot several times without me hitting the trigger but overall it was working, after I changed its position to illuminate the white background it stopped working, the light was red solid, I hit the test button and nothing, I changed the batteries and same thing, red light, I hit test and nothing.
Has anyone had a similar problem?

If you don't get a green light, the capacitor isn't fully charged.

Try fresh batteries.

It's possible that the capacitor is dead. When you put the fresh batteries in and turned it on, did you hear the whine of it charging up?
