Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Hey guys. I thought of an idea for a blog entry but I need some help. In your opinion, what is the best way to ruin a photo shoot? Any ideas that I use will be credited.:

Show up naked.
Show up drunk and/or high.
Show up drunk, naked, and high.

OK, I guess my only ideas involve getting drunk, naked, or high...

BTW - it doesn't sound like much of an idea if you need ideas for your idea...

Well I could only think of two, and I wanna do the top five.

1. Showing up without the right equipment

2. Showing up not knowing ANYTHING about the person/band/group even their name(s).

Are they supposed to be funny, or serious?

The topic is funny and attention-grabbing, but it's supposed to be kinda serious.

Like, showing people the OPPOSITE of what you're supposed to do so they won't do it.

EDIT: How bout this one.... leaving your memory card in your laptop at home like I almost did just now. >.<

Yeah - I was going to say forgetting to check cards/batteries. (Make sure they're all there, and they're all charged.)

Other than just 'forgetting stuff' - I can't really think of anything...

Doing an entire photoshop at your cameras max ISO without realizing or having it on a low res JPG setting.

Don't you people use checklists? As in:
1) Prep.
- location (where? parking? security? lighting? access? permits?)
- Contacts (names, phone numbers, addresses, etc.)
- Confirmation of schedule
- Contractual stuff (if it applies), model releases
- if using power, what outlets, power cords, load limits?
2) Equipment and other prep.
- redundant equipment (2 cameras, flashes, backup memory cards, batteries)
- Batteries charged, memory cards empty
- other lighting equipment (reflectors, softboxes, umbrellas, stands...)
- Props?
- Assistant(s) lined up and available?
3) Pre-shoot meeting
- check light, make sure you have access to all shooting areas
- shooting schedule, script?
- what are the deliverables, who decides on quality? (if not already in contract)
- emergency numbers if needed
- "facilities", break area, refreshments?
4) Day before shoot:
- review equipment list, battery status, spares, memory cards, spares
- check weather, access to general area
- talk to contact & review plan/script/schedule
- verify assistant(s) available, and arrange meeting point
- clothes for shoot, other gear?
5) Day of shoot
- Run down checklist of equipment, permits, passes
- make sure you have food, water, etc. to keep you going
- get there with plenty of time to scout out, setup,
- meet with contact, assistant(s) and go through schedule

Or you can say... frig all this, I know what I'm doing, and Murphy is some guy who I don't know. My camera never failed, I've never run out of batteries, my car never ran out of gas, and it never rains on my parade. Uh-huh.

Remember, if you fail to plan, then you can plan to fail.

You forgot "remove the lens cap."

Yah... that too.:blushing:

Have some unruly little booger running around knocking the lights over n busting them. Mommy dearest forcing uncooperative little git to sit.
Bully Daddy trying to pose his beautiful submissive wife the way he "wants her to look"
Getting set up only to have a no show.

Had these and many others not equipment related spoil a shoot, bully dad was lucky I didn't smack him, did tell her she should give him the bullet when she came for their stuff though. H

Scare the kids. Sometimes the funny thing you do that makes most kids laugh can make some kids scream in terror. (tickle them on the nose with a feather duster for instance) That's basically a trashed session that you have to work damn hard to salvage.
Use dirty jokes or swearing, some people might think its funny but some will just think you are a complete jerk. Its just plain unprofessional IMO.
Keep on shooting even though you know there is a technical/exposure/lighting problem you haven't got sorted because you dont want to look silly.

Trying to sleep with the model during an artistic nude shoot?.....might ruin the photoshoot a bit (might MAKE the photoshoot too....who knows).
