wedding set-up...

Question for you pros...I have a Nikon 8008. I have the chance to shoot along with another photographer at a wedding. I have a 50mm 1.8 lens. My question is this...Can I produce some good shots with this lens only...using natural light only(no flash)..indoors..Can I set on total auto and proceed? What kind of film would you guys recommend? (Totally new at this!) Thanks for the help!
