weddings one thing I dont like

both extremely true......

had a wedding once, ceremony in the reception hall, they tapped the keg before the ceremony... By the time the reception got about half way through there were two relatives fighting ALL OVER my camera case...

Them forgetting to reserve your parking space at the church/reception hall. ;)

Reserved parking spots!?! That is some s****y treatment. I'm usually running 6 blocks hauling a Pelican 1600 case full of gear and a tripod.

EDIT: The filter blocked s-w-a-n-k-y ???

You Need to rewrite that 's-w-a-n-k-y' contract ;).
LOLOLOLOL

No, really. I don't know you but I'll guess you carry somewhere between $10k and $15k worth of equipment, am I right?

Six blocks is a lot of room to get mugged. If there is parking closer then you should have it! Else the B&G need to pay your insurance premium and deductible up front. The loss of equipment due to theft on location from where ever you first park until you are packed and leaving should constitute fulfillment of your obligation and payment in full is still due.

My $.02

LOL Memphis, Tn.

If you are speaking of the audacity of wanting up close parking in the contract, it's certainly no more audacious than wanting $3.2k to shoot a wedding (standard Gold package around here).

Try putting it in a contract and see if you can sell it. If objections are raised then you can always strike it but I think you will find that this is one of those "Perceived Value" items. In other words if he really is that good, of course he should have preferred parking.

For the Lady wedding photogs out there, put in a clause about having a groomsman escort you from your car to the door. ;) You can always strike that too although you might be amazed!

Let me know how it works for you!

Heck if your good, they'll pay for it :) I would

i dont know why but weddings i cant do, i just can never seem to ge the shot i want, or think is going to happen

thats why i stay away from them as much as i can lol

I always found the bride to be the biggest B---H untill she got what she wanted, then the title goes to her mother.

I only found that true mostly when I forgot who was the real boss.....If I could force myself to remember that to some of them I was an employee, just like a plumber, I got along fine with them. It's much easier, ulser wise, to just smile and go along. You can remind them at the proof show who's idea that stupid shot was.

Funky lighting by the dj.
