Weekly challenge 5/23 - 6/5 Flat lays EXTENDED!

(trick with a pan of boiling water; used an old Canon to avoid possible condensation and/or other problems with my fuji cameras; the image is printed as negative with a little extra blue coloring)

Had to incorporate the two hobbies or would have never had time for a flat lay!! It is prime gardening weather out there all this week.

I have some other ideas that I’m going to try to do this weekend. Which background here do you prefer? I like the mulch for the contrast but the gardening glove and bulb package are crooked. It was all I could do to keep the dog from running off with the glove! She sees them as quite a prize and if I put them down for a minute she will take one and run away in victory!

I think I prefer the brighter background of the first one. The second one works, too. The glove and bulb package just give it a slightly more casual look, and I like the depth the flowers add.

Guess I like the more irregular(and interesting)second shot. Catch if you can BBC "Gardeners' World." Top shelf "garden porn" if you're in the wrong zone but still fun.

I LOVE doing flat lay work, as a chef it's a lot of fun to play with food and photography, so combining the 2 is just tops for me.

I'll see if I can get a new one in, but here are a couple from a noodle project I did a while back if it'll help inspire anyone to go play in the kitchen, too.

It's good to see you back, GK. Great shots!
Thank you, that's very kind. My photographic activities have been reduced to almost zero in the past 7 months, good to take part in a challenge every now and then, will see how this goes.

(this is a Maltese mouth-blown mushroom, from our glass collection, photographed from above, in which I've turned on the edge eroded by the flash light, which gives the idea you're looking at the indefinable contents of a bowl, at least that's the impression I get myself. The image was then flipped horizontally and vertically, the small photo shows what the glass mushroom looks like in real life.)
