Dahlia. Brought them inside to shoot by bouncing a speedlight off a 42 inch gold reflector. A focus stack of 5 exposures just for fun.

I decided to have some fun. This is shot on a tripod using the 100-400 4.5 5.6 L II with a 2x teleconverter on a crop sensor making it 1280mm. It is taken from from about 3.5 feet at something like f 45. The subject is one of those invasive little lawn berries and is no bigger than a thumb nail.

Was walking back from hitting the pickleball against a wall -- the wall was winning BTW -- when I spotted this in the yard. Sometimes the best part of a yard is its weeds...at least in mine.

Very nice. You are definitely 500 miles North. Mine are among the last to come out and they are long gone.

They are at absolute peak right now. Still some secondary buds ready to pop but most are in full bloom.

You can do a Google search by uploading your photo for an image match to help you identify the flowers.
