Weird bird appeared on photo, technical error?

i found this picture days ago, and it seems weird to me.

well the bird is so bright that it doesnt make sense. there's no bird species that can reflect light to this extent even if it's a dove, furthermore the red lining is weird too. Is this because of the camera's problem?

Aliens.

Or just just a bird flying into a sunbeam and the camera metering the darker background, thus over exposing the bird.

The bird is overexposed because the majority of the scene is so dark. The red fringing (it's actually magenta) around the edge of the bird is probably chromatic aberration.
