It looks like the flower is trying to look at itself as though in a mirror and the shadow is the reflection. The brighter area in the upper right corner is distracting for me, but I like the idea.

Seems sad to me. Like lookin in a mirror but not seeing what you want to see, or seeing the whole (color part) of you, or only seeing the bad things.
