As it should be with the vine on the back of my shed today
When a few feet away are roses in bud and flower
These make me think of exotic fairies
Cyclamen under the birches are more in season
Whilst the winter pansies are still in trays waiting for the geraniums and petunias to stop flowering so the old chap can clear the beds and get the bulbs in.
The ground is very dry - they have been irrigating some fields locally to soften the soil to get the potatoes lifted. I am told it has been one of the warmest October for years - hope we don't suffer for it later!
