What is my Photoshop doing?

Working on a photo, everything is more or less done but when I go to add my signature (tif file) photoshop does something weird. It worked just fine last night and this is happening every time I try to put the file into the photo. Sometimes the signature shows up grey or clear instead of black as well. As soon as I delete the file, everything goes back to normal.

Any ideas as to whats going on?

I have never tried to insert a layer from tiff file into a PSD; could that be the issue?

I dont think so. Ive done it quite a few times before this and never had a problem. I closed out all programs, re-opened and still had the issue. I checked to see if there was an update from CC as well but nothing new right now. Ill try again tomorrow. Maybe its a computer issue

It could be a corrupt file. Will it let you open the file separately in Photoshop?

Well Im not sure what was going on but now its just fine

Just in case, Im going to run an additional back up on an external incase my computer fails for whatever reason. It shouldn't though because its only 2 or 3 years old but you never know
