What laptop for editing 1080p HD video from Canon PowerShot Elph 300 HS?

I received the Canon PowerShot Elph 300 HS as a gift. It does 1080p HD video.

My current computer is over 4 years old, so I'm looking for a new laptop.

I'm a student, so I don't have the budget for a brand new MacBook Pro. A well priced laptop that can handle the video files and render them in a reasonable amount of time is that I'm looking for.

Any recommendations?
