My best move was to stop questioning my rates - like the OP, I now just state them. No apologies - I'm not a budget photographer anymore.
My second best move was to not shoot the weddings of close friends and family.
My third best move was buying a desk and a desk chair that I love. Space to work is essential, but having a work space I love is so much nicer.
