what's the best way to turn 35mm negatives into hq digital?

i have an abundence of 35mm negatives i need turned into digital format without using a scanner and getting the best quality. if anyone has any opions or insights that may be of use, please let me know.

I suppose you could take a picture with a digital camera but that wouldn't be very good quality. It would be essentially the same since a scanner uses a ccd scanner to digitize the image. Basically the answer to your question is to get them scanned.

Regarding your question, I recently read a very complimentary review of the inexpensive Minolta film scanner which only costs about $300. Basically, you don't have many options. To get negs to digital you either have to scan them or try voodoocat's idea, though it would be extremely difficult to get quality images that way. You pretty much have to scan them yourself or have them scanned and put on CD.
