what's up with the cheap nikon lens socks?

Recently i've noticed that for example that the 200-500mm 5.6 comes with a sock like bag, whats up with that? I mean i know they have to cut costs, but the thing is that they make these lenses in china same as sigma does, but you get a nice bag from sigma to go with your lens while nikon holds out on people. link to the lens sock. I don't use 'em, regardless of the quality.

Sometimes when i dont want to drag my whole camera backpack with me i like to just bring the lens bag. I mean the only good purpose for that sock in the 200-500 would be to cut 3 holes into it, put it over your head and rob nikon for a better bag.

According to Dxo these lenses score virtually the same, but yet one of them is almost doubly more expensive and comes with a neat sock.

Well, there ya go. You've identified a niche market. Get yourself some material, string and a sewing machine and go into business!

Already on it! Maybe then i can afford a nikon lens that comes with a sockless-bag.
