What's your opinion on this lens?

It's a Nikon 80-400.
I will be using it with a D70 and F3.

hi p7, welcome to the forums...


depending on what you are using it for and what your budget is, this could be a great lens. that being said, what kinds of shots do you normally take? The VR ability seems nice, but if you are looking for a low light capability, then you might want to think of something with a smaller aperture.

I've got this lens and like it a lot. I am using it on a F5 not a digital though. I'm not sure what the effect of the 1.6x (?) factor of the sensor of the D70 would have. It is not quite as crisp opticaly as a prime but still a very nice lens.
