Photos NOT OK to edit
They must sell a million of them a day. Internet land is filled with old cameras. Some cameras people will give away just to get rid of them. craiglist is full of them. All those dinosaurs still working perfectly but left far behind as technology progressed or people moved on.
5 mp or 2 mp or 10 mp. They become, pretty much worthless. Few months of trying to sell them, get tired of storing them, cant find someone to give them too. Must be millions of cameras. where do they all go?

I donate old stuff to schools. Most can't afford cutting edge tech and students tend to be rough on gear so it's a perfect fit.

starting next year we should all refuse to buy cameras and boycott the industry for change

Goodwill. No, really, most of the cameras I see there are completely trashed. They come in the door in decent shape and get trashed by customers who just don't care at all.

Are you looking for a source for a new camera?

... actually, all my photographic equipment has been recycled back into the global photographic society.
When I get a replacement product I sell off, or give away (like Pixmedic), it someone who can continue to use it.

There is much other electronic equipment that no one wants.

It's amazing what kind of crap sells on eBay. Dead cameras getting massive bids for no particularly good reason... Saw a completely waterlogged 1D Mk. I sell for $500? WHY? Some higher end film cameras go for nutso bucks even when they're just parts. It's insane. But really, if they're being parted out, they're not really dying, just finding a new life.

This can work out quite well. I bought 4 broken T90s at £20 each and afrer some hacking ended up with a mint camera with no faults, and a heap of parts to repair it when it does. With repairs, will probably last another 25 years, and is frankly a camera I would have a been willing to pay list price for, were it still in production.
