Where to Get Digital Photos Printed?

How do I find a place to get some photos of mine printed in higher quality than can be done on a consumer photo printer? Or, does anyone know of a place near Boulder, CO (or between Boulder and Denver)?

And, how do I bring them the photos? Would a 16-bit TIFF format on a CD work?

Most labs these days have some sort of E-mail or way to upload your images. 16-bit Tiff files will be huge...and probably unnecessary. 8 bit JPEG files would probably be OK...but if you want really high end prints...then maybe the lab would want the Tiff files.
