hello im new to the world of dslrs and i need some help i'm currently debating between the d3100 and the d3200. i can get the d3100 with the 18-55mm and the 55-200mm lenses for about 50 bucks less than the d3200 with just the 18-55mm lens. im kind of stuck thanks for the help

I'd get the newer camera if I were you. You can use the 18-55 until you save up for another lens.

D3200 all the way!!!

I also wouldnt be running to get the 55-200mm lens, very basic and not a very sharp lens.
I would say try to get the D3200 with the 18-105m VR if you can (if not the 18-55mm is fine too) and in the future add the 70-300mm VR which is a much better lens then the 55-200mm.

thanks for the help i actually saw another website and found the bundle for the d3200 with 18-55 and 55-200 lenses for cheaper but im still thinking about your coment. im not sure if should get the 2 lenses bundle or save the extra 120 bucks and buy a prime lens. cuz either way i want to buy a 35mm prime lens

A lens is what light passes through to hit the sensor, it has a HUGE impact on the pic quality, yes the 55-200mm is ok but I think once you know and see few things in photography you will want to get something better and so best is not get it at the first place.
As I said get the 18-105mm VR, its a very good solid lens and put the telezoom on hold and get the prime you want.
A good friend of mine bought roughly at the same time a Nikon D7100 like me.
Since he moved from Sony all his Sony/Minolta lenses were useless for him and he was tight on cash.

He is very happy with the camera/lens set for now and after selling his old Sony/Minolta lenses he recently bought the Nikon 50mm 1.4D lens and absolutely loves it too.
For most cases he doesn't need a longer lens then what he currently have but he will buy in the future when he builds up enough cash the 70-300mm VR.
