I dont know anything about flashes other than I need one here are my two choices I can afford. Vivitar DF 383 Series 1 Digital TTL Shoe Mount DF-383-CAN B&H for your time and experience in helping me. Sorry this isn't a popular theme but I don't know anything about specs to look for.

All I can say is that I have the Vivitar version for Panasonic & am quite pleased with it. Nice that it can be used as an off camera slave to the on-board flash.

I went with the vivitar based on name brand. Fingers crossed. I am sure it's better than no flash and if nothing else I can save for the canon and use it as a secondary.
