Here is one I shot this morning. I have different variations of the shot but this is the only one I have finished with. Got the inspiration from the movie "From Hell" Love to hear your comments.

Haven't seen you post in a while, glad you have today.

I really like this shot. I think the composition and lighting are well done. The only nit-pick I could give are the I think I would like a greater DoF and have the candlestick in focus as well. It just feels that it is as much a main character as the other elements. That or the completely opposite and have it very blurred. Secondly, I might have smoothed out the table cloth.

Well done.

Thanks Kundalini. It's good to be back.

Yeah, I was kinda torn on the DOF. I do have some with the candle in focus. I'll post some of the different variations I have of this shot. All were shot with my new 50mm EF 1.8

I agree about the table cloth....It was giving me fits. I really need to find the felt pad that goes under it.

Lighting was a single light into an umbrella camera right and a foamcore board camera left. Thanks for the comment. Really appreciate it.

Ok, so I don't have one with the candle in full focus. Here is another variation. No candle and no rose. Also left this one in color.

Om my word that is stunning!! My very first thought was, Oh wow, that is so perfect for "Wedding couple in a glass" effect. I have a wedding photo where I pretend to stab my groom with the knife we used to cut the wedding cake, so the knive in your photo would make it even more interesting? Would you mind if I saved your photo and tried it ??

I liked it better with the rose. Seemed so much more macabre and creepy with it in there.

I agree with a wider DOF on the first shot. If not, I would just take the candle out, even though I like it in there.

Overall great concept and excellent job pulling it off!

Thanks for the kind words. No, I don't mind at all if you save it and try that. Just post your results here so we may see how it looks,

Thanks for the comments. Yeah, the rose really does give it that sinister feeling. Thanks again.
