Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
to the powers that be...I was wondering if it would be possible to get a sub-category within the people photography section for the nude/NSFW photos?

to those who post the NSFW photos...PLEASE make sure that is in your title! =)

thanks

That might be a good idea. It would be the most visited section of the forum. :eyebrows:

FarrahJ,

I'll move this to the Feedback section if you don't mind. It doesn't seem unreasonable for there to be a sub-forum for that type of photography, but that will be up to the owners of TPF to decide.

I agree, but I already suggested this awhile back, and was told to just not click.

My point was to be able to totally avoid the section and not even see the titles.

But when I made the same suggestion, I lost.

But you're a girl, maybe you will have better luck making the same suggestion.

There really should be one. Not everybody is good about putting in titles, particularly when it is implied nudity instead of full on nudity. Even worse is when the titles are particularly vague. This would go a LONG way in helping those of us who don't care to click on the threads. A lot better than relying on a million different people to all take the same care in titling their threads properly.

But you would still be relying on people to put those threads in the correct section. ;)

I see you're a firm believer in the powers of the va jay-jay

To the person who started this thread:

"Who's been a naughty boy" in the discussion group

Thanks.... .. It got picked up our filter at work and logged.

Honestly... I don't think it will work. We can't get people to post in the appropriate places to begin with and TPF already has too many sub forums. Next we'll start placing sub-sub-forums underneath the NSFW forum to further keep that forum organized.

I think it is pretty common courtesy (across many forums on the internet) to use NSFW in the subject appropriately... those that don't are either not informed or just don't care.

There are a lot of threads in the people section that are mis-titled and I just think putting newborn baby pics right next to a photo with naked women is just wrong on so many levels LOL. The canon forum has a sub-section and it seems to work well. I guess I'm relying on those who would post in that section just immediately going to that section to look at what is there and then posting a new thread in that section without going back to the main people section.

So, the lens-baby get's it's own sub-forum, but nudity can't? niiiiice

Some might say that babies and 'naked women' are the most natural of things to see together. ;)

My opinion, (for what it's worth) is that everyone (North Americans especially) should just relax about the nudity issue. I mean, what's so bad about a human body that people have to freak out at the site of it?
Some will argue that 'sex' should be filtered from some people's eyes (kids). OK...but nudity does not equate to sex...plain and simple. Of course, our messed up society has intertwined nudity with sex so much that to many people, there is little difference.
I believe that when many people protest nudity based on it being about sex, they are bringing in their own personal interpretation. After all, everything that anyone sees is filtered through their own brain and thus it's impossible to see anything without some personal influence.
For example, someone might see a photo of a naked woman standing by a tree and protest because the nudity is too sexual. Others might not see anything sexual at all...just a human and a tree. They might go on to admire the photographic qualities of the image, maybe admire the beauty of a nude human form.

This discussion will, of course, lead to the porn or not porn argument. Some people equate nudity to pornography, regardless of the intention. I believe that's up to each person to decide for themselves. I believe it was someone in the US Senate (or something like that) that said "I can't define what is or isn't porn...but I know it when I see it".

Anyway, I don't know if this issue has any relevance with a NSFW forum...I'm just throwing it out there. :)

All valid points, but keep in mind, some people have a workplace where if they're caught or logged as viewing anything naked on their office computer, even if accidentally, they will be fired immediately. That sort of adds to the uptightness. It would be nice if they knew what they were clicking on before it's too late.

I"m actually a huge fan of the boudoir photos that are all the rage right now and would love to actually get someone to model for me...and I don't disagree with what you're saying, Mike...it's just that there are some places that it's not appropriate to open some of the threads and since I do most of my browsing while I'm at work, I'd really rather not stumble upon the NSFW photos without warning.

and I was only half joking about the babies and naked women comment...but yeah...some photos are near the line of being considered porn...which I didn't really want to get into that discussion.
