When you set up a tripod and you set a timer on the camera and it takes a picture you are the photographer of that picture.

What if you compose and direct the picture and have someone click it, who is the photographer?

id say you are, because how would that photo be different if you werent there to do everythign? its not about who pushes the button, its about who creates the photo

Very simple, then you are the director and not the cameraman
