megapixels aren't everything, remember. there are no-name brand P&S digicams with 10-12 megapixels on ebay for a couple hundred bucks.

that's actually a nice camera, but usually only good for portrait and perhaps landscape or architectural photography. it has great dynamic range, but the noise is high, and the camera is apparently very slow (focus and photo processing, etc.). alot of times photographers that shoot nikon will grab one of these to have something extra that has a different 'feel' to the images...this camera's sensor has a different method of color and tonal control i think, giving it a slightly wider tonal range. I wouldn't buy one for my main camera, personally. but that's just my opinon.
