Why the D7100 is a better camera than the D810

I can afford the D810 as well, but can not justify the D7100 having a higher pixel density at the center of the image, which it does. The D810 would be superior for super wide angle landscape shots but not for a lions jaw on a gazelle.

The D7100 also has a higher pixel desinty at the edge of the image....

What about the difference in ISO capabilities. What if that lion is enjoying a gazelle in low light, or that deer is in an incredibly shady forrest? Wouldn't the D810 excel?

The D7100 has a higher pixel density than the D810 thru the entire image, so you are right. However the center of a spot weighted image is typically the most important part and typically not discarded by cropping.

True but the 7100 is the best camera of that bunch, unless you need to wifi your eagle shot to someone from the field, which where I go is sometimes out of cellphone range, so no wifi to phone, to home is even possible, unless you bring a satellite equipped phone, and it all becomes nonsense. that said the 24mp sensor in the D7100 is also obsolete by technical standards, as is the 16mp still being sold to simpletons in the D4 for six grand.

you know, Sony would be smart to make sensors with higher pixel density in the center.
actually they should just make sensors smaller and pack in more megapixels into a smaller area.

actually they should stop making sensors and start making a new device that literally captures what youre shooting and puts it in a cage for your viewing. nothing beats seeing something with your own two eyes. lets get rid of the middle man that is a digital picture.

Agreed, the sensor here is dynamic, but as said you still need a quality camera. What model is the Panasonic if I might ask? And why is no one here mentioning the Canon 50mp cameras?

Why is the d7100 the best of the bunch ?
we're talking pixel density here aren't we .. they are all the same

or are you adding other criteria to that now ?
in which case, the d5500 should be the best camera.

the articulating screen does not add to the final image.


therefore the D550 is the worst camera Nikon has ever made, it should be disconintued along with the D4.

and everyone should buy the Canon 5DR 50MP camera.

Just like a car. You don't buy one because it has the most horsepower, otherwise you'd be trying to drive a dragster to drop the kids off at school.
