Hello....quick question.....when it comes to monitors I understand you get more available screen real estate when going up in resolution to a 4k monitor but will the image look any sharper on the 4k or just allow you to view more of the image on your screen? Thanks....

more pixels for information so they can look much sharper. I find things to look worse zoomed past 100% however.

A calibratable monitor is more important than 4K when you're editing to get color, lighting etc done "right". .

Not all 4K displays are created equal.
4K just means the width of the display at native resolution is about 4000 px.
Typical native resolution of 4K displays is 3840 x 2160 pixels. That is only 8.4 MP.
If the digital images you're wanting to display have more than 8.4 MP ..............

The important numbers are the color bit depth (at least 10-bit, or 1.07 billion colors), and the contrast ratio.
Of course you would want to be sure it's an IPS display, preferably with W-LED back lighting.

Put another way, it ultimately depends on how much you can budget for a display.
