Will guestbook work as a blog?

Hi all,
I am on smugmug, have just set up a guestbook page...then thought, maybe I can use it as a blog (to post funny session stuff, answer questions, etc). My question is, would using it this way, instead of through a regular "blog" setup, work the same for me SEO-wise? In other words, would the search engines see the info on my site page as important as a separate blog page that's linked to my smugmug site? Just thought it would be easy to start blogging on the guestbook, since the page is already set up.

I don't believe search engines would see it the same, I also use Smugmug and blogger, you can view my site, and if you are savy enough with code, can make it look exactly like your smugmug page. having a blog is a good idea, i just dont think using the guestbook on smugmug would work quite as well.

Well, I turned the guestbook into a blog, and it was waaaaay easier than I thought it would be. No problem w/ the code, and with the smugmug tutorial I had it done in minutes. :thumbup:
