Will This Be a Problem For My Camera????

Hey everyone!
I am a beginner photographer so i am pretty clueless about stuff.

What i was wondering about is this-

So i have a brand new Nikon d3000. I also have an old 52mm CANON lens filter off an old Nikon film camera my dad gave me. The lens on my Nikon D3000 is a 18-55mm lens. I read the manual and it said only to use Nikon accessories with my camera. But, i tried the Canon lens filter (a 52mm Haze-1 which is this - http://www.pacificrimcamera.com/images/132300.jpg) and it fit on the lens of my Nikon D3000. So here's the question - if I use the Canon lens filter thingy on my brand new nikon camera... will it be a problem? Any help is welcome!!!!!!! :mrgreen:

a filter should be fine. just don't go trying to mount Canon flashes, lenses etc on your Nikon.

as long as the size and threading isn't a problem. i believe they're fairly universal like that though.

Wow.

It does not matter what brand the filter is. It's just something that attaches to the front of the lens.

By the way, that 'haze' filter probably won't do much for you...and will probably hurt your images more than help.
