Wireless flash trigger problems

Ok, i've just bought some wireless flash triggers and i've encountered a problem...

First of all i'm using a Canon EOS 350D with 580ex Speedlite

The wireless kit is this one here...

Now the triggering kit works perfectly by itself when I press the test button and when I fit the transmitter to the camera and press the shutter button it all goes like is should go.

If I have the camera turned on with the transmitter fitted and then fit the 580ex to a receiver, turn the flash gun on... all is fine until I turn the receiver on and the flash goes berzerk, goes off randomly and I can't control it.

I've put the flash into slave mode, master, etc... nothing stops the random flash discharge.

Ideas anyone?

Is it radio or IR?

If it's IR, make sure there is nothing broadcasting an infrared signal in the room (for example, flourescent lighting or remote controls).

It's FM Radio, there's nothing in my room that I can see that's triggering it off...

it could, honestly, be tuned to a local radio station.

That would suck. I don't really know what to do about that.

What happens is the flash reaches full charge, the receiver then 'triggers' and the flash discharges and I have no control over it...very frustrating.

I'm running out of ideas.
