Workflow: a challenge on my hands...

Ok guys, so like many hobby photographers I have been shooting in raw for a few years now and while I love the potential it gives me to edit photos I am finding I just don't have the time to open and deal with every image in PS. I've now got a disorganised folder system with several thousand files that I really want to organise and do something with. I quite fancy creating a few old fashioned albums with snaphots of the family and stuff, and a few hard copies of what I think is my best photos. oh, and I have a decent photo printer that I can do up to A4 prints on

The Question is how best to go about converting my snapshots into reasonable images, I'll aim to process my best images individually but I want to theme a couple of collections so that will take some additions as I'm only putting exceptional images in my best photos?
