Indonesia, I am doing a research to the preferences and
needs of people interested in photography (incl. yourself
and your fellow photographers) from around the world...

That's true, Hertz. But they do ask for your e-mail. And that's like opening the door for all these scam spams like the Nigerian scam. I made a bad decision a year ago to advertise in SE Asia, on a Free Want Ads website (buying cameras) and ever since I get three to four scams in my e-mail.

If they want to do a survey, ok. Let's do it without giving up our e-mail address. Grant you we can put fake e-mail addresses there too...:lmao:

Probably not a scam. This guy is a Dutch guy operating a tour in Indonesia, which is perfectly fine given 1) Indonesia was once Dutch's Colonial (okay, not relevant) and 2) his English is better than most of his Indonesian counterparts. If he were an Indonesian I would be VERY suspicious given how well his English was in this thread.

Also, spammers don't submit avatars (I'm a moderator somewhere else)

But on the other hand, if it is possible I think NOT asking emails would invite more participation. Ask for email address only when the partcipant shows interest in the tour.
