What's new

Would you buy the same camera again?

Yes, most definitely.

The main 3 things are its poor low light performance, 200 flash sync speed, and low fps. other then that, not a bad little camera
Get faster glass
1/200s is plenty
Nail it the first time, anticipate and wait, don't spray and pray.

oh, and no focus moter since most of my lenses are af
Well now, that is a *****. Unless I'm doing macro work, very slow and methodical, I can't trust my eyes anymore.

-I have fast glass...but its all af!!!
-1/200 is plenty, but I would like a little more control over ambient in brighter conditions with flash
-Ever shot an nhra race? YOU try and nail a 300+mph car the first time!

Yes (D7000) but without the kit lens. Body only models weren't available at the time though and I didnt have any other Nikon lenses.

As I developed some taste for old manual focus lenses, I perhaps would buy a Pentax or Sony (entry level) instead of my current Canon, just to have in-body stabilization. But I'm not sure.
Anyway, due to the couple of zooms I have, I suppose during this year I'll switch to another Canon with larger viewfinder.

It depends. Do I have $15,000-$20,000 to spend on a camera this time around? If so, then no I would not buy a 5D MKII; I'd probably end up purchasing a Pentax 645D and lenses.

If I didn't have $15,000-$20,000, I'd buy another 5D MKII.

5D Mark II..........YES!!!!

I would love to have a 5D MKII to back up my 5D MKII so when I 5d MKII I can use my 5D MKII.

550d. Yes, I would. It's the right camera for me. I don't need the flippy screen of 60d and 7d is too expensive.

I think I would go with a d200 instead of the d80 since they are the same price but I am still very happy with the d80!

I would probably get the 40D knowing what I do now... I don't have a problem with my XSi, I really do like it a lot but there's a couple features on the 40D that would be nice.

But hindsight is always 20/20 innit? ;)

No, I would have saved for a d700

yes and I bought a 2nd one because I liked it so much! D90

Yes, love my D90 :D
and I'm one of the few that actually likes the kit lens, especially starting out, good all around lens that's pretty versatile

I have a D3000. I wanted a DSLR for awhile and had planned to save up this year to get one, but he surprised me at Christmas with a Sony A230. I returned that one and got the D3000. I'm happy with it, but I think if I had saved up on my own, I probably would've bought a D90.

How's that for a non-answer?
