This wonderful machine is a Yak 52
It's built in typical russin fassion, like a tank, with a massive engine to get it off the ground. In the air however this machine is a swallow and a beauty to fly after spending so may hours flying a Cessna.
Shown here with the pilot Egon. He flys 747's for a living, I wonder if he ever uses his Russian accent when he does the "This is your captain speaking.." bit.
His co-pilot for the mission, me.
Off we go to fly the mission, which included some low terrain flying up a valley, barrel rolls, loops, aileron rolls and a stall turn. Woohoo!
