Assist beam? I don't know what that is. This flash does have a built in wireless slave that makes it fire when it sees other flashes fire. Great units. I have 4 of them.

i think they mean an AF assist beam.
yes, the yn560 II has an infrared AF assist beam with a range of 3-5 meters.

my bad. I was thinking of the 565. did a quick google search on the 560 and it does NOT have AF assist. sorry about that.
