I am a NEWBIE!!!! Need info on Photoshop Elements
Hi....
I just bought myself a DSLR (Nikon D50 - I know....low end
). I am very excited...also a little overwhelmed. Not looking to get into this as a profession or anything...I am just anal about getting quality shots. I am pretty good at seeing a good picture...but have been frustrated by my "point and shoot".
So I am in need of picking up Photoshop Elements. The reviews I have read on version 4.0 have not been the greatest???? Should I go for 2.0 or 3.0 instead? Any feedback would be appreciated. =)
Thanks--
Carrie

Welcome to the forum.
I have Elements 2.0, but I've heard that 3.0 was a big step up. I didn't bother to read anything about 4.0 but I assumed it would be better than 3.0
I think you can download trial versions, (maybe only the latest stuff) at Adobe.com
Either way, check to make sure that the version you get, can open RAW files from your camera...or that it can be updated to do so.There's no correlation between creativity and equipment ownership. None. Zilch. Nada. Actually, as the artist gets more into his thing, and as he gets more successful, his number of tools tends to go down. He knows what works for him. Expending mental energy on stuff wastes time.
