Looking for Student Photographers
Hey everyone, my name is Katherine and I work for an e-card company located in Toronto. We specialize in Holiday e-cards and are working on a Pilot Project for an internal Stock Photography site. We are looking for students/amateurs to submit photos of winter themes etc. Just wanted to know if I should be posting this in the Buy and Sell forum or if there is another forum that would be suited for this ad.
Thanks!

I spend too much of my life on TPF!
I'm curious as to why you are soliciting Students/Amateurs. Do you think that they are less likely to expect compensation for work submitted?

Not at all...we are a small company and are working on a Pilot Project to see how this works out. We are looking for students/interns etc. Everyone is welcome.

I'm glad you said it. XD I was typing the same type of response and then went "Ugh. Nevermind. It's not even worth it."
I would think that if you're trying to start a business on stock photography, you'd be seeking out professionals... for their quality work... not seemingly seeking out amateurs, for their assumed low pay scale.

You're not offending anyone, at least I don't think so. But typically when someone is soliciting students or amateurs, its because they want to pay very little, or they don't want to pay at all. Copyright protection is a big thing in the photography industry, so we all kind of watch out for the other. We were just curious what your intentions were. Perhaps you could explain your companies intentions a little further?

We are testing a pilot project for an internal stock photography site for our own products etc. I am a photographer myself and also recently graduated school for Graphic and Web Design. I was given the opportunity for an internship for my design and photos skills as well and also wanted to offer other students/interns etc a similar opportunity where some pros may not be interested. This was for any interns that may be interested and payment is also offered.
