100 years old color photography!

    Visit this side for a great read about color photography done in 1909 by Prokudin Gorski, a Russian photographer who set on recording color images of that year's Russia. The pictures are amazing, even after 100 years!

    I have to admit I often wonder about the longevity of today's digital prints. Not to mention the very serious problem of safeguarding digital files.

    NO WAY! they cant be 100 years old...
    they look too good to be 100yr old.

    Incredible. The pictures look eerily modern in colour, really strange seeing such old scenes in anything other than black and white :)

    I wouldn't bet on the $0.12 prints from the local quicky print shop.

    Archival prints on acid free paper and museum mounted so the acid free backing and mat can be changed after absorbing pollution from the atmosphere for a couple of decades will do the trick. Just be sure and bring money.
