A couple of conversions

Here are a couple of tree trunks which I saw one morning. I liked the depth of the bark and all of the textures. I am looking for the right image to make these into a tryptich (sp?). I cannot figure out if I want another B&W image of a tree or if I want a color image of say, a sapling to contrast both the black and white as well as the life cycle of the plants.
