I'm not sure about the contrast in the B&W, but I like it more than the colour version.

Your idea of creating a nice bokeh in 1 is not bad. But I think I would have wished to see some more leaves and not so much of the waterfall in the background ... very out of focus as it is, it seems to underline that I am myoptic ...

Of the flower I personally prefer the colour version but I think it could do with some more highlights. The flowers are a bit grey. Or is it my eyes, too? I would not be surprised... they ARE getting old...!

Thanks for the comments everyone. LaFoto, the pics were taken on a very dreary rainy day, and I did not do any post processing.

Just to add a bit to the mix, here is a combination b&w and colour version.
